Sattu Shake

Sattu Shake

A classic sattu shake already feels like a summer survival potion, but adding 1 scoop of Protein Shakti turns it into a more protein-rich, plant-based drink without making the recipe complicated 🥤🌿

Protein Shakti is made with pea isolate + peanut protein powder, has 60% protein content, and each 20 g scoop gives 12.2 g protein.

Ingredients

Sattu: 2 tbsp, approx. 20 g
Protein Shakti: 1 scoop, 20 g
Cold water: 250–300 ml
Lemon juice: 1–2 tsp
Roasted cumin powder: ¼ tsp
Black salt: as per taste
Regular salt: optional
Mint leaves: 4–5, optional
Green chilli: a tiny piece, optional
Ice cubes: optional

Step-by-Step Directions

Step 1: Add Sattu to a Glass or Blender

Take 2 tbsp sattu in a large glass, shaker, or blender jar.

Sattu can form small lumps, so using a shaker or blender gives a smoother texture.

Step 2: Add Protein Shakti

Add 1 scoop, 20 g, of Protein Shakti to the sattu.

This adds 12.2 g of plant-based protein to your shake.

Step 3: Add Flavouring Ingredients

Add lemon juice, roasted cumin powder, black salt, and mint leaves.

For a slightly spicy version, add a tiny piece of green chilli.

Step 4: Pour Cold Water

Add 250–300 ml cold water.

Start with less water first. You can add more later depending on how thick or light you want the shake.

Step 5: Blend or Shake Well

Blend for 20–30 seconds or shake vigorously until the sattu and Protein Shakti mix properly.

The shake should look smooth, slightly thick, and earthy.

Step 6: Adjust Taste and Consistency

Taste the shake.

Add more lemon juice for tanginess, more black salt for a sharper flavour, or more water if it feels too thick.

Step 7: Serve Fresh

Pour into a glass, add ice cubes if needed, and serve immediately.

This shake works well as a mid-morning drink, post-workout drink, or evening protein boost.

Recipe Notes

Protein Shakti has a mild nutty taste because it contains peanut protein, which pairs well with the earthy taste of sattu.

For a sweeter version, you can skip cumin, chilli, and black salt, and instead add jaggery powder or dates. But for a cleaner high-protein version, the salted version works better.
